Let us take a minute to look at and examine success. I will be asking you to think introspectively to examine what success means to you. How you become successful. How you know if you have become successful. And what happens after you have become successful.
So, what does success mean to you? is success something that can only be achieved through money or is it something that can be achieved through the life you build for yourself? Personally, I do not think there is necessarily a right or wrong answer to this question. This comes down to a personal decision, some people will say that you are successful when you have become rich and have a good job. Others will say that you are successful when you have created a life for yourself that you can be happy and proud of. This is where you must become introspective and look deep within yourself to really determine what you want to get out of life. What is your definition of success?
Once you know what you are looking for in success, the question becomes how do you achieve this success? Create a goal for yourself with a timeline. Set objectives for yourself, be specific in your goal, make it measurable, make it achievable, make it relevant and make it time-based. Doing this will make it easy to see what you are doing, where you are going and whether or not you have gotten where you want to be. If you don’t hit your goal in your time frame you will be able to look back at your goal and what has happened and determine why you weren’t successful. From there you can then recreate your goal.
Finally, what happens once you have reached your goal and become successful? Is that the end of the line? Or is there more that you can do? Personally, I always believe there is more that can be done. Remember, the best in any field isn’t the best because they stop working once they reach the peak. They are the best because they continue working and learning.
