Where does self-growth come from? What causes a person to grow? Can self-growth come from sticking to what you have been doing or does something have to change?

Sticking to the status quo is acceptable if you are alright staying mediocre. If you don’t care to improve or grow then continue doing what you have been and don’t worry about changing a thing. Here’s the thing, you must stop and ask yourself what is your goal? What do you want to accomplish? If you are ok staying mediocre then that is fine, don’t do anything. But if you want to change if you want to grow then something has to change.

Self-growth and change don't come from maintaining the status quo, they come from being challenged, pushing yourself beyond your limits, and failure. We don't grow when things are easy, we grow when they are difficult. So the question you have to ask yourself is how far do you want to go? If you want to be the best you will have to work harder and longer than everyone else.

Don’t worry about failure and mistakes, jump at the opportunity to try new things. Failure is only a failure if you fail to learn something from it.

Remember, there is always going to be someone out there trying to surpass you. So if you choose to keep to the status quo then one day they will surpass you. But if you choose to continue working and striving for more you can continue to grow.
